Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration (SIRVA)

An inflammatory reaction to a vaccine inadvertently injected too high or too deep into the shoulder.

SIRVA is characterized by shoulder pain and limited range of motion which persists for an extended period of time following vaccination.

SIRVA causes bursitis, frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis), tendonitis, and inflammation and damage to the shoulder tendons, ligaments, and bursa

SIRVA

Difficulty walking or lifting

Difficulty breathing
